Do you know a person that should be nominated?
We invite YOU, the members of our community, to nominate candidates who have improved conditions in education, income and health for our Live United Community Impact awards. The United Way also honors an individual 18 years of age and also younger with the Live United: Youth Award.
Anyone serving in western Kentucky is eligible. You may nominate yourself or someone else for top honors. You may also nominate more than one candidate for any award.
The United Way announces honorees at its Victory Celebration in June.
A voluntary committee comprised of United Way board members, community partners and individuals selects one honoree in each category.
In addition to the submitted narrative, selection committee members are asked to consider the following before determining an honoree.
Live United recipients should reflect United Way values.
- Awardees should be committed to service and/or community improvement.
- Awardees should demonstrate integrity.
- The committee should be able to validate or verify the candidate’s service or work with another entity or organization, if needed.
- The recipient should reflect positively on the United Way and its work in the community.
- Awardees should be inclusive, fair and serve others equally.
Additional Parameters:
- A selection committee member who has submitted a nomination cannot vote for a Live United recipient in the same category.
- United Way staff cannot vote.
- Nominees and awardees remain confidential until the Victory Celebration.
Congratulations to these past award recipients!
